Data Protection Policy and changes to GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets out legal guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information and it replaces the Data Protection Act 1998. It came into effect on 25 May 2018. All organisations will need to be compliant.
Sport England is working with the Sport and Recreation Alliance to help the sector become compliant by creating a suite of templates such as privacy policies, data usage statements and consent forms.
These templates will be supported by guidance notes and advice summaries to help you use them correctly and adapt them to your own organisation.
All three batches of GDPR documents are now available to download from Sport and Recreation Alliance. Here, you will find extensive information on:
- Child friendly privacy notices
- Data processing agreements
- External privacy policies
- Accountability, data breaches and transfers
- Data subject rights and template responses
- Standard club data protection policy
... and much more!
