Active Kids is back. Now’s the time to collect vouchers for sports and cooking equipment and to inspire the children in your local school or club to get active. So spread the word and encourage people in your community to collect and donate vouchers. Let’s get everyone involved, because together we can help more kids to eat well, move well and live well.
Eat well: Our cooking equipment and kits give schools and clubs the tools to teach kids about the importance of a balanced diet. Your Active Kids vouchers can also be exchanged for a double value Ingredients Card to help keep them stocked up.
Move well: Get kids moving and having fun with all the great quality sports and play equipment that can be collected with your vouchers.
Live well: If we can get kids eating and moving well, we have a better chance of helping them live well, too. It’s all about promoting long and happy lives.
Once again footballing ace Daniel Sturridge, swimming superstar Ellie Simmonds and world record-breaking sprinter Jonnie Peacock are proud to be Active Kids ambassadors. And we’re delighted to say that the fantastic England women’s football player, Lucy Bronze, has joined the team this year. We’re thrilled that these sporting icons are championing Active Kids and using their own extraordinary achievements to help inspire children.
“I’m really excited to be part of Active Kids again. We’re hoping to help even more kids get active in 2016, so now’s the time to get collecting your vouchers!” Daniel Sturridge
“It’s so important that children learn to lead healthier lives from as early on as possible. And if I can help them achieve that, then it’s another gold for me!” Ellie Simmonds
“I’m so happy to be able to support and encourage children through Active Kids, and hopefully inspire them to live their lives to the full.” Jonnie Peacock
“Some of my best memories were playing football at school. It’s so exciting to be the first women’s footballer endorsed by Sainsbury’s, I think it just shows the way our sport’s going now.” Lucy Bronze
There’s now a new way to receive Active Kids vouchers:
- If you shop in Sainsbury’s supermarkets then you’ll get one voucher for every £10 you spend. If you spend £40, you you’ll get one piece of paper with four vouchers on. All vouchers will be given out at the checkout*.
- In Sainsbury’s Locals, you’ll get one voucher for every £5 you spend, so if you spend £15, you’ll get three individual vouchers.
We’re proud and delighted to announce that, thanks to you, last year we donated a massive £11 million worth of equipment and experiences to UK schools and kids’ clubs. Which adds up to an amazing grand total of over £160 million since Active Kids began in 2005.
With your help, together we can continue to make a difference by helping even more children eat well, move well and live well in 2016.
* All vouchers can be collected at Sainsbury’s stores.
